Proxima is seeking a Director, Chemistry to lead compound design and synthesis for discovery programs, from hit identification through lead optimization. This role involves close collaboration with biology and ML scientists, pressure-testing the output of Proxima's Neo-1 foundation model. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in organic chemistry with 8-12 years of medicinal chemistry experience, strong synthetic chemistry fundamentals, and demonstrated structure-based drug design capabilities. You will be responsible for driving SAR strategy, managing CRO chemistry, and solving complex drug discovery challenges in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
