Founding Engineer | Head of Engineering
Founding Engineer | Head of Engineering
Rosie MatchAbout Rosie
Rosie is reimagining modern care infrastructure, starting with childcare. Families today face one of the most important and stressful challenges of their lives: finding and managing trusted care. It’s the leading cause of women dropping out of the workforce, families choosing to have kids later in life, and decisions on how and when to grow a family. Rosie blends AI and human expertise to make this process simple, seamless, and trustworthy, bringing joy back into care.
We’re at the precipice of greatness: families are ready to experience the magic and we’re building the brand and growth engine that will define the future of Rosie. This is a rare opportunity to join as a founding team member and shape the story, voice, and reach of a company solving a deeply personal and universal problem.
We have raised a pre-seed round from top VCs & angels.
The Role
Do you love building in early-stage chaos, thrive across the stack, and are motivated by solving complex problems with real human impact? Do you enjoy the feeling of a to-do list longer than you have time to tackle, competing and changing priorities, and being the one to decide what matters at any given point? Are you enthralled by the latest emerging technologies, spend all your free time trying out new AI tools and obsessed with simple & beautiful user experiences?
This role isn’t just about writing code. You’ll work directly with the founders to shape Rosie’s product, technology, and technical culture. You’ll be responsible for everything from system design to shipping features quickly, while laying down the groundwork that will allow Rosie to scale.
Rosie today looks like an embedded personal assistant that sits in users’ emails, calendars and text messages. Rosie understands users through what it learns & what users tell it about themselves, their families & their homes. Rosie is a proactive super agent that helps families find, vet & manage their childcare, so simplicity and magical user experiences are at the core of what we deliver.
Who You Are
- A builder at heart: You thrive on taking ideas from 0 → 1, wearing many hats, and turning vision into reality.
- Obsessed with growth: You set the bar unreasonably high and push far past “good enough” to deliver exceptional results.
- Driven by outcomes: You’re not looking for a 9–5. You’re willing to flex, adapt, and put in the work required to build and grow Rosie.
- Courageous: You run at resistance and find energy where others hear “no.” Obstacles motivate you.
- Execution-first: You believe trust is earned by shipping beautiful, functional, and reliable products.
- Fast-moving: You thrive in speed and ambiguity, creating clarity instead of waiting for it. You learn, adapt, and improve quickly.
- Creative & daring: You challenge conventions, reimagine what’s possible, and infuse delight into the everyday.
- Ruthlessly focused: You know how to cut through noise and relentlessly prioritize the one thing that truly moves the needle.
What You’ll Do
- Build the core product: Own feature development end-to-end, from prototypes to production-ready systems.
- Shape technical direction: Make foundational decisions on architecture, infrastructure, and tooling.
- Move fast: Ship experiments, iterate on feedback, and balance speed with maintainability.
- Collaborate closely: Work hand-in-hand with the founding team across product, design, and growth.
- Ensure reliability: Build secure, scalable systems that families can trust with their most important needs.
- Lay the foundation for scale: Establish engineering best practices, documentation, and culture. Eventually help build and lead the engineering team.
