Whatnot is seeking a Software Engineer for their Trust & Risk, Fraud, and Integrity teams to build systems that ensure a safe and trustworthy platform for buyers and sellers. This role involves designing and developing production algorithms and infrastructure to mitigate systemic risks, balance risk with user experience, and respond in real-time to threats. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years building for consumer-scale loads and 1+ years with Python, with a preference for experience in Trust and Risk domains. You will contribute across the full development lifecycle, drive cross-team initiatives, and continuously evolve defenses against emerging abuse patterns.
