Full-Stack Engineer
Full-Stack Engineer
Opus HealthCompensation: Competitive base salary + equity
Start Date: Immediate
About Opus Health
At Opus Health, we’ve built the infrastructure to fix one of its largest and most overlooked problems: how patients pay for healthcare. Healthcare payments remain fragmented, manual, and opaque. Billions of dollars in benefits go unused each year while providers lose revenue to disconnected systems, failed payments, and administrative overhead.
At Opus Health, we’re changing that. We’re building the next-generation infrastructure to automatically discover, verify, and apply HSA/FSA benefits at the point of care, making healthcare payments as seamless as any modern financial transaction.
Backed by leading venture investors, the product is live, customers are seeing measurable results, and we’re now focused on scaling execution. As a Full-Stack Engineer at Opus, you won’t just be writing code — you’ll be co-creating the product, the platform, adding really value to the engineering team from your first day on the team, and helping millions of people interact with the healthcare economy with confidence.
The Opportunity
This is a senior, full-stack role. You’ll be a critical member supporting and building our engineering function, shaping the technical roadmap, and working directly with the Founder and CTO to take our product to the next level. As one of our Full- Stack engineering hires, you’ll be a true co-creator of the product, team, and platform — owning full verticals, leading architecture decisions, and shipping production code quickly and securely.
We work closely with our users. Everyone here jumps in to talk to customers, support pilots, and improve the product based on what we hear.
What You’ll Own
Design and build core modules: Direct integrations, eligibility verification, payment processing, RPA workflows, and provider-facing dashboards
Architect facets of the early platform and select, build, and manage integrations with partners like Stripe and Stedi
Own full verticals end to end — patient flows, provider dashboards, and payments UX
Help launch and scale pilots across specialty healthcare and enterprise software companies
Build upon our engineering workflows, deployment pipelines, and security/compliance practices
Document, debug, and test across the stack
Contribute to our engineering culture, including future hiring and mentorship
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a product-minded senior full-stack engineer who is data-driven and is comfortable operating in a fast-growth environment. You take pride in your craft, love building valuable products, and can ship with a lean team. You’ve pushed agentic coding tools well past their defaults. Maybe that’s orchestrating multiple agents against one codebase, using git worktrees to keep several work streams running in parallel, writing your own skills or MCP servers, or tuning harness configuration to fit how your team actually works. We care less about which of these you’ve done than about the instinct to shape the tooling instead of accepting what ships in the box. You’ve likely worked on consumer-facing products or complex backend systems before — and you’re excited to contribute to something that is mission-driven.
Required
BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
4-6+ years of experience as a full-stack or backend engineer
Experience designing and deploying highly available, fault-tolerant systems on a cloud platform (GCP or AWS)
Advanced use of claude code or similar tools
Experience working at an early-stage startup or building 0→1 products
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and customers
A passion for building systems that are intuitive, scalable, and impactful
Preferred
Experience in healthcare tech, fintech APIs, or RPA tools
Hands-on experience with Stripe, Plaid, or Finix integrations
Familiarity with bringing AI/ML techniques into a product
Why Join Us?
Equity and competitive early-stage salary: You’ll have a stake in the company you’re helping build.
