About Adapt
Every company will have a central company agent. Adapt is the platform for building, running, and governing it. We connect the models a company chooses to its systems, data, people, and workflows. With persistent memory, secure compute, deep integrations, reusable skills, and enterprise controls, Adapt helps the agent understand real context, complete real work, and improve over time.
We believe this infrastructure should be open, portable, secure, and controlled by the organizations that depend on it. Models will change. What a company builds with Adapt stays theirs. Join us in building the platform that will define how companies work with AI.
About the role
We are hiring a Product Designer to define how the building blocks of a company's central agent look, feel, and work. You will own product design end to end, from the customer Slack thread through exploration, implementation, launch, and learning from real use. We call this "ship and tell." Your work is not finished when a design is handed off. It is finished when the product works, feels right, and customers love using it.
Your focus will be company-agent setup, integrations, and trust and control patterns across Slack and web. You will also help bring important product launches to market through product pages, launch visuals, demonstrations, and supporting social assets. This work connects the product experience to the way customers discover, understand, and adopt what we build.
As Adapt grows, you will establish the product-design practices, critique rhythm, and quality standards that help the team ship excellent work. You will lead through your own work and help shape how design contributes as the product evolves.
What you will own
- Product discovery and strategy. Work directly with customers and Product Engineering to understand problems, define interaction models, and determine what should be built.
- End-to-end product design. Own flows, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, prototyping, product copy, edge cases, and implementation quality.
- High-quality, frequent shipping. Ship boulders such as major product surfaces, stones such as flow and component improvements, and pebbles such as copy, icon, spacing, and alignment fixes.
- Trust and control. Make it clear what the agent is doing, why it is doing it, what it can access, where it needs help, and how people remain in control.
- A code-backed product design system. Build a system that Product Engineering and coding agents use by default, helping the team move faster without compromising quality.
- Implementation partnership. Work alongside engineers through tradeoffs, implementation review, launch, customer observation, and iteration. This is not a handoff role.
- Ship and tell. Partner with Marketing, Product, and Engineering to translate important launches into clear product pages, demonstrations, launch visuals, and supporting assets.
What success looks like
- You ship meaningful end-to-end product experiences that improve comprehension, successful task completion, recovery, and user trust.
- Adapt has a code-backed design system and coherent product patterns that engineers and coding agents use by default.
- Customer discovery, prototyping, implementation review, launch, and post-launch learning become a consistent product-development rhythm.
What we are looking for
- 5+ years of product design experience, ideally in developer tools, infrastructure, enterprise software, data products, or AI systems
- A portfolio, anonymized case studies, or a case-study walkthrough showing end-to-end ownership from customer problem through shipped product and learning
- Exceptional interaction, information architecture, visual-design, prototyping, and product-copy craft
- Experience making complex systems, workflows, dependencies, permissions, and technical states understandable
- Technical fluency and the ability to work closely with engineers through implementation, system design, and product-quality review
Helpful but not required
- Experience with enterprise controls, permissions, observability, AI workflows, or agentic products
- Experience building a production design system or creating launch and product-marketing design for a technical product
Benefits
- Competitive compensation strategy including large equity grants for early hires at an early stage in the company's journey
- Inclusive healthcare packages (medical, dental, vision)
- Top-tier equipment: latest Apple silicon (Mac Studio / MacBook Pro), 5K display, and any peripherals you need to do your best work
- Frontier AI access for every engineer and designer: Claude Code, OpenAI, Cursor, Codex, and most importantly unlimited internal use of Adapt itself
- Daily catered lunch in our Presidio (San Francisco) office, plus snacks and coffee
- A founder-dense, in-person team in one of the most beautiful corners of San Francisco — direct access to the CEO, CTO, and founding eng/design every day
