Senior Parametric Amplification Expert M/F Quantum Hardware & Infrastructure Control Electronics & Characterization Aubervilliers Aubervilliers CDI Alice & Bob is developing the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer to solve the world’s hardest problems. The quantum computer we envision building is based on a new kind of superconducting qubit: the Schrödinger cat qubit 🐈‍⬛. In comparison to other superconducting platforms, cat qubits have the astonishing ability to implement quantum error correction autonomously! We're a diverse team of 200+ brilliant minds from over 31 countries united by a single goal: to revolutionise computing with a practical fault-tolerant quantum machine. Are you ready to take on unprecedented challenges and contribute to revolutionising technology? Join us, and let's shape the future of quantum computing together! As Senior Amplification Expert and part of the QECC (Qubit Environment Characterization & Control), you will oversee to the design, selection and optimization of the qubit readout chain used in our Quantum Processor Unit. You will be in charge of : specifying, selecting, characterizing and improving the amplification chain used in our current chips and in our Lithium product. Study, prepare and develop the solution for future large chips (2027+) Your expertise in Amplification systems will directly contribute to our culture of technical excellence and innovation, shaping the future of quantum computing. As part of the team you will help and support your colleagues focusing on characterization and instrumentation. You will also be the relay for amplification chain and readout with other teams inside A&B. Benefits: - Our success is your success: own it with our BSPCE plan - Direct IP Compensation: Earn substantial bonuses for driving the core patents that define our quantum architecture. - Flexible remote policy, up to 40 % a month - A Parental plan including additional benefits such as crèche support or additional days-off to take care of under 12 years old children - Subsidized membership with Urban Sports Club - Mental health support with moka.care - 25-day vacation policy (as per French law) + RTT - Half of transportation cost coverage (as per French law), or yearly allowance for the die-hard bicycle users - Competitive health coverage, with Alan. - Meal vouchers with Swile, as well as access to a fully equipped and regularly stocked kitchen - French language courses covered by the company for those interested Research shows that women might feel hesitant to apply for this job if they don't match 100% of the job requirements listed. This list is a guide, and we'd love to receive your application even if you think you're only a partial match. We are looking to build teams that innovate, not just tick boxes on a job spec. You will join of one of the most innovative startups in France at an early stage, to be part of a passionate and friendly team on its mission to build the first universal quantum computer! We love to share and learn from one another, so you will be certain to innovate, develop new ideas, and have the space to grow. Responsabilities

Upstream studies & project development:

Study the problematics linked to the readout and amplification chain to address them. This could be linked for example to:

test and screening of new components

TWPAs calibration optimization

building blocks for scale-up (multiplexing, test of integration strategies)

control electronics front end / baseband / signal generation with FGPAs / ASICs

Describe and details the specification of your projects/POC. Align with your manager for the feasibility, timeline and budget.

Organize and manage projects

Testing, Validation & industrialization:

Propose and help to implement a testing environment for your projects

Lead the tests and measurement, with the help of instrumentation and software engineers

Push the TRL validations up to the requested level by the Product delivery cycle

Ensure the transfer of developed building blocks to the operating teams

Troubleshooting & Optimization:

Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues related to the he test chip, cryo environment, or instrumentation / control electronics.

Implement root cause analysis process if needed

Establish long term roadmap on the amplification chain:

Technology watch on state of the art for:

amplification devices

scale up of amplification chains

Define a technological roadmap (which can rely on external partners + internal development if applicable) for the amplification chain, and ensure a smooth discussion with the “design authority”, to make this roadmap consistent with the roadmap of the company

Maintain exchange with academic and industrial partners by attending national and international workshops and conferences (in accordance with the budget and conference plan defined at the company level, as well as the team’s organization and plans).

Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams & partners:

Work closely with other teams to ensure the seamless integration of our components in our hardware and software set-up.

Organize regularly internal workshops to the rest of the team to popularize technical knowledge to other team members

Documentation & Reporting:

Ensure all design processes, test results, and system configurations are thoroughly documented.

Provide regular updates and reports on your projects progress and timelines.
