K2 is seeking a Senior Satellite Mechanical Engineer, Optical Structures, to take cradle-to-grave ownership of mechanical elements for space environment payloads, including optical payloads. This role focuses on structural design, manufacturing optimization, lens and optical component mounting, and thermal analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background with 4+ years of experience in mechanical or optomechanical design and analysis, proficient in 3D CAD and FEA software. You will define requirements, perform analysis, lead design reviews, and drive hardware development from prototyping to flight qualification, ultimately seeing your hardware fly in space.
