Principal Full Stack Engineer
Principal Full Stack Engineer
Redapt, Inc.We’re hiring a Principal Full Stack Engineer to help define and scale Edapt’s AI-driven platform for public education. You'll own the front-end experience and document generation workflows, architecting, building, and refining core systems. You will be working directly on customer-facing features that save hours for educational leaders.
You’ll help shape Edapt’s engineering standards — grounded in autonomy, agency, and velocity — and be a core part of instilling them in our development practices. As one of our earliest technical hires, you’ll take exciting prototypes from concept into production, and challenge assumptions across the team at
every step. If you thrive in environments where high trust meets high speed and where every line of code matters, Edapt might be your fit.
Edapt’s Mission
Edapt is building the brain for educational decision-making by creating statewide compliance systems. Our platform simplifies the bureaucratic chaos of school district reporting using AI, freeing administrators to focus on students and strategy. We’re backed by mission-aligned investors and are in a hyper-growth phase — scaling rapidly across California, with early conversations underway in additional states and interest from state-level agencies.
Given this growth, we’re looking for a team member to own the front-end experience as we scale from districts, to counties, to state Departments of Education. Every engineer we bring on now plays a pivotal role in shaping what comes next.

Scope of Work:
As a Principal Full Stack Engineer, you will:
● Own and ship customer-facing features across our TypeScript/React/Next.js stack
● Redesign or rewrite core systems for clarity, speed, and scalability
● Partner with ML engineers to improve how model outputs flow into usable, compliant documents
● Prototype new product experiences and push them into production
● Help define team-wide engineering practices and architectural guardrails
● Wear multiple hats (infra/devops/backend) as needed in a lean environment
● Ask hard questions, suggest better paths, and challenge what’s “good enough”
What Makes You a Great Fit
● You’re a strong full stack engineer with fluency in TypeScript, React, and Next.js
● You’ve built and maintained production systems in fast-moving environments
● You’re not afraid of infra or DevOps and can get under the hood when needed
● You care deeply about clean UX and stable, understandable systems
● You prefer asking “why” before jumping into “how”
● You’ve led architecture conversations or laid down patterns others followed
● You may have founded something or acted like an owner wherever you’ve worked
● You’re excited by the idea of working on public infrastructure that matters
● You’ve likely spent 5+ years building production web apps in fast-paced environments, but we care more about high agency and deep execution than exact years
Bonus Points
● Familiarity with tRPC or another typesafe API framework
● Experience with observability, monitoring, or developer experience tooling
● Exposure to SOC2 or security-forward system design
● Passion for improving real-world systems
Logistics & Structure
● Remote-first, with preference for Pacific time zone overlap
● Expect quarterly in-person team on-sites (we cover travel)
● You’ll join a small, senior team where every engineer codes and shapes product
● No middle layers. Direct collaboration, thoughtful pace, and full context
Compensation & Upside
Compensation includes salary and meaningful equity. This is an early role with real weight. As we scale across California and into new states, the work you do here will directly shape the systems school leaders rely on every day.
If you're the kind of person who makes every engineering hour count and wants that to reflect in long-term upside this is your team.
