Discord is seeking a Director of Engineering, Safety to lead its Safety Infrastructure Engineering organization, comprising two teams and approximately 20 engineers. This role involves building and scaling systems for content classification, enforcement, and automation, ensuring user safety on the platform. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in backend and distributed systems, managing managers, and a strong understanding of AI/ML systems and human-in-the-loop operations. You will drive the automation roadmap, own internal tooling for operations teams, and set the bar for engineering quality while collaborating cross-functionally with various teams.
