Sarvam is seeking an experienced ML Researcher for Foundational Models to drive open-ended research on architecture, optimization, and training dynamics for their next-generation models. This role is not about fine-tuning or applying known recipes, but rather designing and executing ablations at scale to inform production training runs. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in ML/CS, 3+ years of research experience, first-author publications at top-tier ML venues, and hands-on experience pre-training transformer-based language models from scratch. You will have direct access to large compute and work closely with infrastructure and data teams to make architectural and training-recipe decisions on frontier-scale model runs.
