VP of Product
VP of Product
Kirkland & EllisAbout Our Company
We’re a stealth seed-stage startup building AI-native financial infrastructure to address one of the most persistent bottlenecks in private markets. Founded by a repeat founder with multiple successful exits, we’ve raised $9.9M and assembled a world-class base of investors and partners to fulfill the promise of an ambitious and industry-changing mission.
We are transforming the foundation of the private capital ecosystem, applying automation, intelligence, and first-principles design where legacy systems have stalled or do not exist.
About The Role
The VP of Product will report directly the founder / CEO and collaborate across the organization. Key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Bolster and execute on an ambitious product roadmap: Develop a data-driven roadmap focused on high-impact features, aligning the team around clear goals, metrics, and trade-offs to advance the platform. Synthesize early customer feedback and define the next iteration of the product.
- Champion AI and data excellence: Partner with engineering to build an AI-native platform, enabling retrieval-augmented agents, anomaly detection, and automated investor reporting, while ensuring all AI systems are accurate, explainable, and auditable. Foster a data-driven culture through dashboards that surface key product and customer metrics in real time.
- Demonstrate exceptional customer-centricity: Build deep curiosity that develops into real expertise in private capital workflows and specialized investment strategies. Embed a culture of respect for customers through consistent user discovery using structured interviews, workflow shadowing, and prototype testing.
- Drive cross‑functional collaboration: Coordinate engineering, design, sales, operations, and legal/compliance around rapid iteration cycles, setting up lean product rituals such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives to maintain alignment. Act as the bridge between market insights and technical trade-offs, collaborating with go-to-market and operations teams to craft compelling demos and ROI narratives that resonate with financial and compliance decision-makers, while supporting customer success in onboarding.
- Build and scale the product organization: Operate as a player-coach, writing requirements, sketching wireframes, and testing features while synthesizing feedback and shaping the product vision internally and externally. Recruit and mentor product managers and designers as the company grows, setting high standards for urgency, ownership, and continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of experimentation, collaboration, and rapid iteration.
What Success Looks Like
A few examples of success for this leader include:
- Product is delivered on time (or ahead of time!) while being deeply embraced by target customers.
- Metrics validate impact: The metrics our customers care most about improve measurably. Dashboards provide real-time visibility into customer engagement and product performance.
- The team reflects a builder mindset: A culture of urgency, experimentation, and ownership attracts entrepreneurial, hands-on product professionals who execute relentlessly. The organization also incorporates a disciplined, consistent product management framework for planning and prioritization.
- Practical, differentiated applications of AI: Retrieval-augmented answers, anomaly detection, and analytics differentiate the platform for financial operations. The company demonstrates a deliberate, agent-driven approach to product development and deployment, enabling faster delivery of the most impactful and highly requested modules.
