Muon is seeking a Staff Mission Lead Systems Engineer to join their Mission Execution team, focusing on developing missions for Earth and climate intelligence. This pivotal role involves partnering with the Mission Architecture team during early formulation, shaping technical concepts, and driving architecture trades for prospective missions. Once a mission is selected, the engineer will become the Mission Lead Systems Engineer, owning end-to-end technical success from concept through on-orbit operations for demanding classified missions. The ideal candidate will have a "big-picture" view of mission execution, spanning the full lifecycle of mission design, and will serve as the primary technical interface with customers and cross-functional teams. This role requires strong systems engineering rigor, flexibility, and effective communication to meet the exacting standards of government and commercial customers.
