Nuance Labs is seeking a deeply technical Member of Technical Staff, a recent or soon-to-be PhD graduate, to lead RL and post-training for large-scale omni models. This high-ownership role involves building and scaling Nuance's RL/post-training stack from the ground up, focusing on methods that improve interactive behavior, emotional response, and real-time conversational quality for AI avatars. You will be responsible for turning research ideas into reliable training systems, spanning method development, infrastructure, evaluation, and optimization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of RL/post-training methods and software engineering fundamentals, with an appetite to build real, production-scale systems.
