Lila is seeking a Principal ML Research Engineer to be the founding engineering leader for their new AI for Cell Biology team. This hands-on role involves building and operating the core engineering platform for autonomous science in cellular and tissue biology, including domain data, specialist models, agentic infrastructure, and evaluation harnesses. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of ML platform experience, deep expertise in scientific data engineering, and a strong background in agentic and autonomous-science systems. You will co-develop the technical direction, set engineering standards, and integrate cell-biology research with Lila's central autonomous-science platform.
