Muon Space is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Onboard Compute Architecture, to lead the definition and evolution of their spacecraft's high-performance compute platform. This role involves being the technical center for software architecture, data flows, and computation across FPGA, GPU, CPU, and onboard networking.
The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in system-level or compute-platform architecture, with a proven track record in heterogeneous compute systems for embedded, aerospace, or high-performance edge environments. You will be responsible for gathering architectural requirements, driving cross-discipline alignment, and ensuring the compute platform is modular, configurable, and reusable for a growing fleet of missions. This hybrid position requires on-site work in San Jose, CA, three days a week.
