Lila is seeking a Staff / Principal Research Engineer, AI Safety, Technical Mitigations to lead the development and implementation of safety systems for their scientific superintelligence. This role involves building technical safeguards beyond the current state-of-the-art, specifically tailored for integrating frontier-class language models with scientific tools and lab automation. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in building safety systems for frontier problems and experience with scalable, production-grade ML systems. You will set the research strategy for Lila's safety systems and eventually build a team to support this critical function.
