Jakob from Omi Health is hiring a founding engineer - the most senior technical person in the company, setting technical direction and owning delivery end to end. They run proprietary longevity tests for dogs and are building the longitudinal health data layer for the pet industry. We're backed by a16z Speedrun and have thousands of pet parents on a rapidly growing waitlist, and hundreds in our paid trials.

Our founding engineer will set technical direction, own delivery end to end, and hire the engineers who come after them. The stack is already in production (Python/FastAPI, Postgres/Supabase, SwiftUI, React, AWS on Terraform) but every architectural decision from here is theirs. We expect 4-6 years of experience but are more interested in mindset and learning curve than stats. Position is in NYC/hybrid.
